摘要: Campylobacter jejuni infection is a leading bacterial cause of gastroenteritis and common antecedent to Gullian-Barre syndrome. Our previous data suggested that the RNA-binding protein CsrA plays an important role in regulating several phenotypes including motility, biofilm formation, oxidative stress resistance. In this study, we compared proteomes wild type, csrA mutant, complemented mutant C. strains effort elucidate mechanisms by which affects virulence phenotypes. The putative regulon was more pronounced at stationary phase (111 regulated proteins) than mid-log (25 proteins). Proteins displaying altered expression included diverse metabolic functions, with roles amino acid metabolism, TCA cycle, acetate various other cell processes, as well pathogenesis-associated characteristics such chemotaxis, resistance, fibronectin binding. strain also showed autoagglutination kinetics when type. specifically bound 5’ end flaA mRNA, demonstrated growth-phase dependent repressor FlaA expression. Finally, exhibited reduced ability colonize mouse model competition further underscoring colonization pathogenesis.
