摘要: Monitoring the effectiveness of management activities within reserves is always a complicated task. When focus mammals, it difficult to monitor their populations in way that rapid, effective, and inexpensive. We report on mammal survey reserve southwest China using remote-trip cameras. surveyed 329 locations over 2 field seasons 2002 2003. Sixteen species mammals were detected with these cameras, four documented for first time. After accounting variation due slope, aspect, elevation, habitat type, distribution six was positively associated location conservation stations and/or patrolling routes. Species medium-sized are excellent candidates monitoring programs based relative abundance, sufficient size be by camera units, sensitivity human activity. The efforts relatively rapid means assess effectiveness. repeat use cameras as part plan should provide quantifiable measure
