摘要: Nitrate may reach surface and ground waters as a consequence of agricultural activity discharge domestic industrial waste. Among the various methods used for nitrate removal, denitrification, process in which is biologically reduced to elemental nitrogen, relative reliable inexpensive compared other physical chemical removal processes. Denitrification generally conducted with biofilters bacteria are either immobilized insoluble carriers or entrapped within an immobilization matrix. We examined use non-toxic biodegradable natural hydrocolloids entrapment denitrifying bacteria. Gel beads containing starch alginate were this purpose. Three types gel examined: (1) wet beads; (2) porous (3) freeze-dried beads. With respect dried showed similar capacities. Porous demonstrated advantage over regular only during first approximately three month incubation period. The viability was slightly affected prolonged refrigerated storage Since beads, production costs significantly reduced, it anticipated that such will eventually lead method can be applied on scale.
