摘要: When a well is pumped or otherwise discharged, water-levels in its neighborhood are lowered. Unless this lowering occurs instantaneously it represents loss of storage, either by the un-watering portion previously saturated sediments if aquifer nonartesian release stored water compaction due to lowered pressure artesian. The mathematical theory ground-water hydraulics has been based, apparently entirely, on postulate that equilibrium attained and therefore no longer falling. In great number hydrologic problems, involving pumping district near which falling, current not strictly applicable. This paper investigates part nature consequences considers motion before reached and, as consequence, involves time variable.
