摘要: This chapter reviews the agricultural role of Brassicaceae (Cruciferae) or mustard family. The family includes many economically important edible and industrial oilseed, vegetable, condiment, fodder crop, such as. It also molecular plant model, as Arabidopsis thaliana. Current crops are reviewed new underutilized crucifer crop species discussed. Proposed uses for these crops, biofuel platforms green manure covers biofumigants, briefly reviewed. contains a rich source agronomic economic traits in its highly diverse wild germplasm. Traits discussed this include morphological chemical traits; physiological C3–C4 photosynthesis, cytoplasmic male sterility, apomixis, regeneration transformation ability; tolerances to various stresses salt, heavy metals, cold, drought, herbicides, diseases, insect, nematode pests. These potential value improvement programs crucifers now serve model their study.
