摘要: Two series of studies were conducted in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to x radiation, one involving exposure the intact abdomen 850 rads and other, exclusive gastrointestinal tract 1300, 3500, or 5000 rads. In both cases, head, forelegs, thoracic area shielded during irradiation. Abdomen-irradiated animals divided into two groups which was treated with antibiotics. The most prominent observation abdomen-irradiated high incidence tumors, it found that prior treatment antibiotics had no apparent influence on either pattern delayed radiation mortality tumorigenesis. Results also suggest an animal a relatively radioresistance intestinal injury does not necessarily have resistance effects radiation. Gastrointestinal shielding increase lifespan abdominally irradiated. Gross histological examinations made determine possible cause death irradiated rats, results strongly involvement gross kidney pathology as major causative factors receiving 1300- 3500-rad doses, but animalsmore » this group given readily apparent.
