摘要: Abstract Aim To determine the association of vitamin D with insulin resistance and obesity in children. Methods A total 92 obese 58 non-obese children aged 5–17 years were evaluated. Data collected related to anthropometric (weight, height), biochemical parameters (fasting plasma glucose, serum insulin, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, lipid profile, B12, parathormone) physical examination (blood pressure, acanthosis nigricans, stria, lipomastia). Insulin (IR) was calculated using homeostasis model assessment (HOMA). HOMA-IR = fasting level (μU/ml) × glucose (mg/dL)/405. value >2.5 defined as resistance. Results According US Endocrine Society classification, deficiency (0−20 ng/ml) determined at significantly higher rates group than control (p Conclusion The prevalence compared normal-weight overweight Serum 25(OH)D levels showed a negative correlation HOMA-IR. is associated independently obesity.
