摘要: Abstract Evidence exists to support the beneficial effects of superoxide dismutase on endothelial dysfunction induced by hyperglycemia in vitro. In vivo, however, studies native preparations vascular complications accompanying diabetes are limited, and their therapeutic application potential has so far been disappointing. The objective this study was evaluate, for first time long-term administration tempol, a stable dismutase-mimic compound, diabetes-induced rats. Diabetes streptozotocin rats were monitored 8 weeks with or without treatment tempol (100 mg/kg, s.c., b.i.d). Diabetic showed increased levels superoxide, which accompanied oxidative stress markers malondialdehyde 8-epi-prostaglandin F2α. addition, vasorelaxant as well cGMP-producing acetylcholine glyceryl trinitrate reduced diabetic Treatment abolished not only differences content F2α, but also relaxation cGMP responses aortic rings both between control These results involvement reactive oxygen species mediation hyperglycemia-induced provide rationale utilization nitroxides prevention diabetes.
