摘要: Periodontal disease (PD) is a highly complex involving many factors; however, two principal facets central to initiation and progression of the majority PD are composition microbes in sub-gingival plaque, host immune response these organisms. Numerous studies point complexity PD, fact that despite innate adaptive activation, resultant inflammation, our fails cure disease. Stunning new findings have begun clarify several complexities host-pathogen interaction pointing key roles for microbial dysboisis imbalance pathogenesis Furthermore, investigations identified novel translational opportunities intercede treatment. In this review we will highlight select few recent immunity, pathogen interactions at micro-environmental level may profound impact on progression.
