A cystic, septated lesion in the liver with unusual diagnosis

摘要: A 51-year-old male patient from Iraq presented with symptoms of right upper-quadrant abdominal pain. Imaging showed a 9 cm, lobulated cystic lesion in the liver lobe thin septations, suggestive hydatid cyst. Although serology for disease was negative, treated by percutaneous drainage. Owing to persisting symptoms, he re-evaluated showing same unchanged. On presumptive diagnosis cystadenoma or cystadenocarcinoma, underwent laparotomy. solitary, found that removed local excision. Macroscopical examination revealed multilocular, septated tumour. Histopathological assessment lining cysts epithelioid cells immunohistochemical features consistent mesothelial origin; pathology findings are an adenomatid tumour; differential benign multicystic mesthelioma also considered. These rare lesions which only few cases have been described literature.
