Aldosterone 18-glucuronide excretion determined with and without chromatography in human hypertensives

摘要: 24 h-urine excretion of aldosterone-18-glucuronide was determined with and without preceding paper chromatography in patients essential hypertension (n=50). Radioimmunoassay performed a highly specific antibody against aldosterone. Urine specimens gave significantly higher values than aliquots which were estimated at the same time chromatography. A significant correlation found between two methods (r=0.91,p<0.0001). Without chromatography, mean over estimation samples concentrations low middle range on average 32 24% respectively, whereas aldosterone upper showed 14% estimation. The RIA procedure for as here described is suitable screening programmes to exclude known forms primary hyperaldosteronism elevated rates have be differentiated from lying within normal range.
