Progeroid syndromes: probing the molecular basis of aging?

摘要: A valid method of studying age related degenerative pathologies is to study human genetic diseases that appear accelerate many, though not necessarily all, features the aging process. Such are described as progeroid syndromes because their possible relevance many aspects and disease. This article describes recent progress made at cellular molecular levels in understanding pathogenesis one best characterised these disorders, Werner's syndrome.
