摘要: It is commonly asserted that the field of strategic management fragmented and lacks a coherent identity. This skepticism, however, paradoxically at odds with great success has enjoyed. How might one explain this paradox? We seek answers to question by relying first on large-scale survey scholars from which we derive an implicit consensual definition field—as tacitly held its members. then supplement examination espoused definitions obtained group boundary-spanning scholars. Our findings suggest management's as emerges underlying consensus enables it attract multiple perspectives, while still maintaining distinctiveness. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
