摘要: Abstract Given the increasing expansion of human dominated landscapes it often becomes necessary to relocate endangered and at-risk species from existing habitat areas. Further, there is growing research stating that climatic atmospheric changes attributed climate change are already affecting distributions geographic ranges, requiring be relocated. Existing reserve design models mostly focus on choosing optimal land area given have not incorporated relocation as a criterion. This paper introduces linear integer programming formulations for multiple populations at risk clustered conservation We present basic model extend minimize distances relocation. apply dataset related Gopher Tortoise (GT), keystone currently considered ‘at risk’, Ft. Benning Georgia where expanding military training needs require GTs. results discuss trade-off between compactness considerations using an efficiency frontier.
