摘要: There is a paucity of data describing female lower limb biomechanics during "high risk" movements linked to noncontact ACL injury. This study compared, across gender, knee kinematics associated with sidestepping maneuvers provide insight into why women display significantly higher incidence this injury than do men.Thirty participants (16 men, 14 women) had bilateral joint kinematic recorded while sidestepping. A custom software package (JTMOTION) quantified maximum, minimum, and range motion stance for each the three clinical rotations (flexion/extension, adduction/abduction external/internal rotation) over 20 (leg x condition trial (5)) trials.Gender differences possessed limited significance all maximum values well within safe ranges motion. Women did, however, increased intertrial variability axial rotation patterns cutting compared men. was thought be unaffected by experience level found statistically (P < 0.01) major determinant Hence, exposure sidestep may have large impact on subsequent risk when one performs these maneuvers.Gender in motions did not contribute The reasons incidence, therefore, remain unclear. potential relationship between gender other parameters such as geometry, ligament morphology, physical conditioning requires further investigation.
