Household Expenditure for Dental Care in Low and Middle Income Countries

摘要: This study assessed the extent of household catastrophic expenditure in dental health care and its possible determinants 41 low middle income countries. Data from 182,007 respondents aged 18 years over (69,315 countries, 59,645 15 lower countries 53,047 8 upper countries) who participated WHO World Health Survey (WHS) were analyzed. Expenditure was defined as if it equal to or higher than 40% capacity pay. A number individual country-level factors potential (CDHE) multilevel logistic regression with individuals nested within Up 7% households faced CDHE last 4 weeks. proportion rose up 35% among that incurred some same period. The model showed wealthier, urban larger more economically developed had odds facing CDHE. results this show payments for can be a considerable burden on households, preventing basic necessities. They also help characterize likely incur care. Alternative financing strategies policies targeted improve fairness financial contribution are urgently required
