摘要: Summary The equilibrium between three strains of influenza virus and their homologous antibodies is determined by two independent methods, with an accuracy better than ±10%. Counts particles, hemagglutinating infective units are presented for the same preparations, techniques developed estimating number antibody molecules within sera (accuracy about ±30%). From these data antigenic sites per particle calculated, shown to be order 2000 each viruses tested. constants antigen reaction fell range 9 10 5 11 (in centimeter-gram-second (CGS) units), were significantly different pair reactants. These estimates carry over-all errors ±25 ±50%. parameters virus-antibody interaction also estimated special in vivo techniques. as obtained vitro measurements, but consistently lower. This both indicates some heterogeneity population points preferential involvement more firmly binding process neutralization.
