摘要: Magnetospheric substorms represent the basic dynamic process in coupled solar wind -- magnetosphere ionosphere system. Recent satellite missions have considerably advanced our means to monitor this vast environment. These observations are interpreted context of a hierarchy models: Global MHD simulations and various techniques nonlinear physics used characterize large-scale features, whereas microphysical models study small-scale processes. Empirical described order address questions that involve meso-scale or multi-scale phenomena. We discuss some recent relate those new advancements modeling techniques.
