摘要: Common mental disorders are highly prevalent in emergency centre (EC) patients, yet few brief screening tools have been validated for low- and middle-income country (LMIC) ECs. This study explored the psychometric properties of SRQ-20 tool South African ECs using Mini Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) as gold standard comparison tool. Patients (n=200) from two Cape Town, Africa were interviewed MINI. Internal consistency, factorial validity examined. The was effective identifying participants with major depression, anxiety or suicidality displayed good internal consistency. optimal cutoff scores 4/5 6/7 men women respectively. factor structure differed by gender. is a useful EC settings holds promise task-shifted approaches to decreasing LMIC burden disorders.
