摘要: Abstract Metal complexes of general formula, [M(NNS)2] (M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); NNS′ = S-2-methylbenzyl-β-N-(di-2-pyridyl)methylenedithiocarbazate (1), NNS″ = S-3-methylbenzyl-β-N-(di-2-pyridyl)methylenedithiocarbazate (2) NNS‴ = S-4-methylbenzyl-β-N-(di-2-pyridyl)methylenedithiocarbazate (3) have been synthesized by reacting the respective metal acetates with Schiff bases in an ethanol/acetonitrile mixture. They characterised various physico-chemical techniques. Magnetic spectral evidence indicate formation six-coordinate which base coordinates as a uninegatively charged tridentate NNS ligand. The crystal structures [Ni(NNS′)2] (5), [Ni(NNS‴)2] (13) [Cd(NNS′)2] (7) were solved via single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis. All three possess distorted octahedral geometry where two are coordinated to central ion pyridine nitrogen-atom, azomethine-nitrogen atom thiolate-sulphur atom; like donor atoms N4S2 set mutually trans. assayed against selected pathogens cancer cell lines. inactive all fungal strains tested, but mildly active bacterial especially Bacillus subtilis. Anti-microbial activity generally improved upon complexation transition ions. their mostly examined 1–3 MCF-7 (Human Breast cells positive estrogen receptor) MDA-MB-231 negative Only 9 was whereas 10 13 line. Cytotoxic observed be enhanced particularly for Ni(II) complexes.
