Ballistic characterization of nanocomposite materials by means of “Coil Gun” electromagnetic accelerator

摘要: In this paper the authors present their activity in field of electromagnetic machine applications for aerospace solutions. A three stage accelerator is under construction to perform ballistic characterization carbon-based nanocomposite materials anti-debris application. Preliminary experiments as well numerical simulation have been performed with promising results terms bullet's energy. Further implementation are needed order come closer velocity typical space debris (8km/s).
