摘要: A passive gamma detection technology, consisting of a fielded sensor and separate analysis system, is described. The small cylinder, about 2.5 mm in diameter 15 length. It requires no onboard power sources or physical connections for data transfer, retains its cumulative response to radiation. consists an amorphous magnetoelastic wire held longitudinally-stressed state by radiation-sensitive material. When the material subjected radiation, it mechanically degrades, relaxing stress on lowering wire’s magnetic permeability. changes permeability are observed switching domains measuring reduction Faraday voltage as diminished. package built around excitation-detection coil set can communicate wirelessly with through metallic nonmetallic barrier at distances up 25 mm. linear dose least 7 kGy.
