摘要: Physical anthropology was obessed with types and racial purity for an exceptionally long time, only breaking through the clouds of typology in 1960s 1970s. For at least a hundred years, research on Khoekhoe peoples southern Africa directed by idea Hamitic origins these pastoralists, dynamics variation native populations were ignored so that individuals fit pre-conceived appearance mythical Hamite could be identified. The three-race model (Bushman, Hottentot Bantu) held sway until Singer's 1958 publication of  Boskop 'race' problem which he criticized type concept. Only after seminal paper did population models begin to considered study aboriginal South Africa. Here, I examine important philosophical shift from 'types' 'populations' our understanding physical Khoekhoe. many new researchers field, earlier literature must seem alien all its talk types, bloodlines features treated as if they genetic alleles.
