摘要: Abstract A model is derived to analyze the conditions under which flat pieces of wear debris are formed by ductile metals during sliding wear. The assumes that piece contains local planar regions metal more prone yield than surrounding material. It shown shear occurs preferentially below surface. Increasing load leads critical condition for being satisfied throughout an increasingly wider band At same time driving force on plane approaches asymptotic limit as increases.
