Understanding Depressive Symptoms after Bariatric Surgery: the Role of Weight, Eating and Body Image

摘要: Introduction: Depressive symptoms have been reported as prevalent after bariatric surgery. This study aims to analyze the role of weight, eating behaviors and body image in depressive symptomatology surgery patients assessed post- operatively. Material Methods: is a cross-sectional including 52 post-operatively with follow-up time ranging from 22 132 months. Psychological assessment included clinical interview (Eating Disorder Examination) assess disorders psychopathology, three self-report measures: Outcome Questionnaire 45 – general distress; Beck Depression Inventory symptoms; Body Shape image. Results: Our data show that are associated loss control over eating, increased concerns image, mass index regain. Multiple linear regressions was tested these variables showed regain surgery, significantly explained 50% variance post-operative symptoms, being concern most significant variable: greater dissatisfaction more symptoms.
