Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of Staphylococcus spp. isolated from mastitis milk and cheese processing: Study of adherence and biofilm formation

摘要: Abstract The aim of this study was to identify the phenotypic and genotypic profiles Staphylococcus spp. isolated from mastitis milk cheese processing plant.To evaluate biofilm production wild-type strains on contact surfaces by testing different factors through adhered cells quantifications, finally, these biofilms were observed Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Congo red agar (CRA) plate method used slime strains. Screening genes encoding adhesion formation carried out using PCR. After selection, assays designed times (12, 48, 96 h), (n = 13), (stainless steel polypropylene), temperatures (5 °C 25 °C); then, bacterial count crystal violet staining conducted. Relative frequencies positive CRA presence determined, Friedman test applied for counts OD values. Additionally, significant (P ≤ .05) subjected multiple comparisons Nemenyi test. in visual inspection 38.7% A large distribution described among strains, implying a high variability profiles. Moreover, relative gene described. developed assay showed that strain, temperature, surface, both variables. SEM corroborated findings, showing greater stainless at 25 °C. Thus, it is essential highlight importance temperature control material with low superficial energy avoid staphylococci.
