摘要: Abstract We have previously demonstrated by Western blot analysis that the adult stage of filarial nematodeAcanthocheilonema viteaeexpresses α-subunits heterotrimeric G-proteins corresponding to GSand Gq. now show, using same technique, these two are not detectable in microfilaria parasite. Conversely, microfilariae contain Go, an α-subunit expressed worm. No other G-protein were found blotting. However, reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) with degenerate oligonucleotide primers, followed hybridisation analysis, oligonucleotides specific for individual α-subunits, only confirmed expression but also detected Gi1and G11α-subunits. infective larvae was investigated RT-PCR analysis: this organism resemble more than differed from GSwas absent and Gi3was present. The significance stage-specific differences is discussed respect their possible role parasite development survival.
