摘要: Abstract: Seasonal profiles of sulphur, phosphorus, and potassium content in the wood trees have been established for first time. This became possible by using a novel laser ablation system coupled to HR-ICP-MS measuring these elements Norway spruce drill cores. technique combines excellent spatial resolution with superior detection power, makes it measure low element concentrations even relatively narrow annual rings. Despite its quantity wood, sulphur is an important macronutrient plants seems display seasonal variations concentration, which correspond actual theories metabolism plants. A similar pattern was also found another crucial tree nutrition. unexpected, because previously assumed that distribution phosphorus remains constant throughout year. Potassium, third measured, be especially accumulated latewood. The presented this article suggest variation, revealing some new aspects (Picea abies) metabolism.
