Vulnerability to sexual violence and participation in sex work among high-end entertainment centre workers in Hunan Province, China.

摘要: Background China has seen a proliferation of entertainment centres that are frequented by business people. Employees at these often young, female rural-to-urban migrants who may be vulnerable to sexual violence and exploitation. Methods: Data for this study were collected using self-administered survey among male employees in two high-end Changsha, Hunan Province, China. We used logistic regression examine predictors violent potentially exploitative experiences (partner violence, forced sex transactional sex). Predictors included gender, ever having same-sex partner, migration variables employment characteristics. Results: Participants reported high levels partner (16.0% 9.0% the past 3 months) (13.9% 5.5% months). Nineteen percent work months. In multivariate regressions, had was associated with higher odds experienced (odds ratio (OR) = 7.8, P < 0.001), months (OR = 9.0, (OR = 6.0, P < 0.001) (OR = 5.2, P = 0.001). After adjusting sex, association between remained significant. Neither gender nor status any outcomes. Conclusion: High-end centre workers risk should targeted employment-based interventions.
