Functionalized carbon nanotubes based filters for chromium removal from aqueous solutions

摘要: This investigation examines the filtration efficiency of chromium from aqueous solution using two types commercial multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) (Taunit-M (TM) and Taunit-MD (TMD)). These MWCNTs were modified complementary treatments, purification (using a mixture hydrochloric acid hydrogen peroxide) functionalization nitric acid). The effect these treatments on morphology MWCNT Taunit filters was characterized by scanning electron microscopy energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to estimate outer diameter distribution element content deposited filters. Effects different parameters, i.e., nanotube filter mass, concentration in solution, pH removal this heavy metal determined. From investigations, could reach 97% for TM 70% TMD at 10 ppm, suggesting that is an excellent adsorbent solutions more efficient than TMD. A significant increase = 2 has been observed compared with higher values. It found can be reused through many cycles regeneration high performance. Modified may promising candidate ion industrial wastewater.
