摘要: The impact of vegetated filter strips (VFS) on sediment removal from runoff has been studied extensively in recent years. Vegetation is believed to increase water infiltration and decrease turbulence thus enhancing deposition within media. In the study reported here, field experiments have conducted examine efficiency for cropland runoff. Twenty filters with varying length, slope cover were used under simulated conditions an average concentration 2700 mg/L. 2, 5, 10 15 m long a 2·3 5% three types vegetation. Three other bare soil as control. experimental results showed that trapping all was 84% ranging 68% 2-m high 98% 15-m compared only 25% length found be predominant factor affecting VFS up m. Increasing did not improve present conditions. rate incoming flow vegetation percentage secondary effect VFS. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
