摘要: Since the isolation of Bacillus anthracis exotoxins in 1960s, detrimental activity edema factor (EF) was considered as adenylyl cyclase only. Yet catalytic site EF recently shown to accomplish cyclization cytidine 5'-triphosphate, uridine 5'-triphosphate and inosine addition adenosine 5'-triphosphate. This review discusses broad substrate specificity possible implications intracellular accumulation cyclic 3':5'-monophosphate, 3':5'-monophosphate on cellular functions vital for host defense. In particular, cAMP-independent mechanisms action cell signaling via protein kinase A, G, phosphodiesterases CNG channels are discussed.
