In Vitro Receptor Binding Studies The discovery of the existence nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in brain and their involvement CNS higher functions such as learning memory are relatively new phenomena. nAChRs obvious candidates for transducing cell surface interactions not only ACh but also several other neurotransmitters. Several studies suggest that may act modulators communicative processes brain. It is important to define by which mechanisms exert action find out physiological role CNS. especially since seem be involved pathological disorders where drug intervention can implicated via interaction with nAChRs.
