摘要: We examine the role of instantons in zero-temperature chiral phase transition an SU(N) gauge theory. For a range N_f (the number fermion flavors) depending on N, theory exhibits infrared fixed point at coupling $\alpha_*$. As decreases, $\alpha_*$ increases, and it eventually exceeds critical value sufficient to trigger symmetry breaking. case N = 2, we estimate values due by numerically solving gap equation with instanton-generated kernel. find instanton effects strength comparable that gluon exchange.
