摘要: In search for the vector of recently recognized spotted fever rickettsiosis Yucatan, ticks, fleas, and lice were collected from vegetation dogs in localities where seropositive persons had been found. The arthropods examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using primers genus-specific 17-kDa protein gene followed restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) DNA sequencing. Eleven (20%) 54 pools Ctenocephalides felis fleas contained Rickettsia felis.
