Incorporating User Preferences in Multimedia Queries

摘要: In a multimedia database system, queries may be fuzzy: thus, the answer to query such as (Color=‘red’) not 0 (false) or 1 (true), but instead number between and 1. A conjunction, ∧ (Sound=‘loud’), is evaluated by first evaluating individual conjuncts then combining answers some scoring function. Typical functions include min (the standard function for conjunction in fuzzy logic) average.
