Children's eating behavior: comparison between normal and overweight children from a school in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

摘要: OBJECTIVE: To evaluate differences in children's eating behavior relation to their nutritional status, gender and age. METHODS: Male female children aged six ten years were included. They recruited from a private school the city of Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil, 2012. Children´s Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (CEBQ) subscales used assess behaviors: Food Responsiveness (FR), Enjoyment (EF), Desire Drink (DD), Emotional Overeating (EOE), Undereating (EUE), Satiety (SR), Fussiness (FF) Slowness (SE). Age-adjusted body mass index (BMI) z-scores calculated according WHO recommendations status. RESULTS: The study sample comprised 335 87.9±10.4 months 49.3% had normal weight (n=163), 26% overweight (n=86), 15% obese (n=50) 9.7% severely (n=32). Children with excess showed higher scores at CEBQ associated "food approach" (FR, EF, DD, EOE, p<0.001) lower on two avoidance" (SR SE, p<0.001 p=0.003, respectively) compared children. Differences related age not found. CONCLUSIONS: "Food positively children, but no associations
