Reprocessing of Spent Nuclear Fuels

摘要: Owing to the accumulation of fission products, depletion fissile nuclides, and/or changes in mechanical behavior cladding, a nuclear reactor fuel element must be removed from after certain period service, e.g., about 3 years case LWR. To separate non-fissioned uranium and built-up materials such as plutonium 233U, irradiated reprocessed an intermediate “cooling” time allow for decay short-lived radionuclides. Reprocessing spent fuels strongly depends on nature type reactor.
