摘要: Abstract One of the most important determinants fitness is location an animal within its habitat, and it assumed that habitat patches are differentiated by resource value to organism. For many invertebrates, we have no idea which axes may be important, moreover, do not necessarily understand microhabitat. non-homing animals, distribution animals often thought indicative food or refuge resources. Using manipulative experiments, show limpet Cellana tramoserica dependent on previous occupants any particular resting site. If limpets removed, incoming will occupy sites in a much greater proportion than occupying new sites, noting C. obligate homing species. It was likely chemical-based cue bound substratum surface strong modifier for whether re-occupied sites. There some evidence this pattern held also sizes, such size original occupant predicted incomer. These experiments provide decisions site solely based values but associated with public information about suitability.
