摘要: Experimental investigation on spray atomization and droplet dynamics inside a thermostatic expansion valve (TEV) was conducted. A needle an orifice were copied from commercial TEV machined to be mounted chamber with optical access so that the flow is simulated visualized at same time. The break-up of refrigerant documented near downstream under different feed conditions micro-second scale. Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA) system used later measure size atomized droplets. It found impingement inevitable crucial atomization. Under steady-state operation, liquid film seen formed plate caused droplets splashed plate, which will further have effect size. before impact after characterized by PDA for studying impingement. In addition, geometry has also been investigated. * Corresponding author: Chia-fon F. Lee
