摘要: Eight species of the amphipod family Caprellidae sensu Myers and Lowry, 2003 are cur- rently known to occur in shallow, near shore waters northern Gulf Mexico (GOM), from Suwannee River, Florida, Port Aransas, Texas, depths 10 m. They include: Phtisica mari- na, Hemiaegina minuta, Paracaprella pusilla, tenuis, Deutella incerta, Caprella equilibra, penantis, scaura. Another species, andreae, is also suspected this region due its close association with sea turtles, which nest on sand beaches GOM. The occurrence these 9 GOM discussed; distributions, new records, synonymies, diagnoses, remarks life history ecology presented. In addition, records for 7 provided along a simplified identification key.
