摘要: Abstract Conventional assessment and evaluation of sediment quality are based on laboratory-based ecotoxicological chemical measurements with lack concern for ecological relevance. Microbiotas in responsive to pollutants can be used as alternative indicators pollutants; however, the linkage between microbial ecology endpoints response contamination has been poorly evaluated. Here, situ microbiotas from Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) area Yangtze River were characterized by DNA metabarcoding approaches, then, changes compared endpoint, aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) mediated activity, level polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) sediments. PAHs organic pollutant mixtures mediating AhR activity had different effects structures microbiotas. Specifically, Shannon indices protistan communities negatively correlated levels PAHs. The was positively relative abundance prokaryotic Acetobacteraceae, but a negative correlation Oxytrichidae. Furthermore, quantitative classification model built predict abundances Acetobacteraceae These results suggested that Protista could provide useful tool monitoring assessing stressors. observed responses community provided supplementary evidence support AhR-active pollutants, such PAHs, primary stressors aquatic TGR area.
