摘要: To assess the impact of diagnosis and modern treatment childhood cancer on achievement adult goals, authors evaluated employment, health life insurance coverage, marriage, divorce, reproduction in 227 former pediatric patients. Each area was relation to a common set disease demographic factors that included age at follow-up, diagnosis, gender, marital status, history recurrence, diagnosis. Patients were younger than 20 years their diagnoses made between January 1, 1960, December 31, 1984. The median 11.4 years, follow-up 26.6 years. percentage unemployed male respondents did not differ from population norms. female respondents, however, slightly higher United States population. Approximately 11% survivors reported some form employment-related discrimination, level significantly lower prior reports.
