摘要: We present a method to characterize pressure induced magnetic high low spin transition in iron sulphide using x-ray Raman scattering spectroscopy at the M2,3-edge. The advantage of this is that observed spectral changes between pressures 1.7 GPa and 10.1 GPa can be used with help atomic multiplet calculations determine crystal field splitting parameters associated transition. discuss potential M2,3-edge investigate irons electronic state in-situ conditions inner Earth, i.e., temperature pressure, providing exciting opportunities for geophysical materials science applications.
