摘要: Telomere length is associated with age-related diseases and highly heritable. It unclear, however, to what extent epigenetic modifications are leukocyte telomere (LTL). In this study, we conducted a large-scale epigenome-wide association study (EWAS) of LTL using seven large cohorts (n=5,713) - the Framingham Heart Study, Jackson Women's Health Initiative, Bogalusa Lothian Birth Cohorts 1921 1936, Longitudinal Study Aging Danish Twins. Our stratified analysis suggests that EWAS findings for women African ancestry may be distinct from those three other groups: males ancestry, females European ancestry. Using meta-analysis framework, identified DNA methylation (DNAm) levels at 823 CpG sites significantly (P<1E-7) after adjusting age, sex, ethnicity, imputed white blood cell counts. Functional enrichment analyses revealed these near genes play role in circadian rhythm, coagulation, wound healing. Weighted correlation network four co-methylation modules LTL, Overall, reveals significant relationships between two hallmarks aging: biology changes.
