摘要: Objective Our purpose was to report the occurrence of abscess following spilled gallstones during laparoscopic cholecystectomy as experienced at Good Samaritan Hospital, and compare it experience other institutions in order identify incidence, characteristics possible risk factors for development this complication. Methods Four case reports are presented. The English literature reviewed, found were compared. Results In four years institution, formation have been identified. Two occurred elderly females located right flank both. middle-aged men, both diabetic. One one pleural space. Twenty-three cases literature. average age 65 years; there 12 men 11 women. locations trocar sites (most common), subphrenic space, or retroperitoneum, pelvis. time presentation 4-5 months (range 4 days-12 months). Conclusions Abscess occurs infrequently, but can be debilitating require more than procedure. older population appears greater risk.
