Demodex mites in acne rosacea

摘要: The hair follicle mites Demodex folliculorum and brevis their role in the pathogenesis of rosacea have been subject much debate past. We studied prevalence facial skin biopsies obtained from 80 patients with rosacea, 40 eczematous eruption lupus erythematosus discoides. mite group (51%) was significantly higher than rest study population (eczema 28% discoides 31%). were found on all sites. most infested areas whole forehead (49%) cheeks (44%). Males more frequently (59%) females (30%). did not find any significant difference counts follicles between control group. A lympho-histiocytic cell infiltration seen around follicles. Our results suggest that may play a inflammatory reaction acne rosacea.
