Nanoquasicrystalline phase formation in binary Zr–Pd and Zr–Pt alloys

摘要: Abstract This paper reports nanoquasicrystalline phase formation in Zr 100−x Pd x (x=30 and 35) 80 Pt 20 binary alloys the kinetics of nanoquasicrystallization process. While icosahedral ( i -phase) forms as a metastable transient stage during crystallization Zr–Pd amorphous alloy, it directly from liquid melt-spinning Zr–Pt alloy. The isothermal studies show that -phase 70 30 alloy by primary process with Avrami exponent range 1.5–2.5. Three-dimensional atom probe analysis results suggest is slightly enriched respect to matrix its composition close 75 25 . tendency quasicrystallization Zr-based appears have correlation enthalpy mixing system.
