Refrigeration plants using carbon dioxide as refrigerant: measuring and modelling the solubility and diffusion of carbon dioxide in polymers used as sealing materials

摘要: Because of increased environmental pressure, there is currently a movement away from more traditional refrigerants such as HCFC's toward with lower global warming potential carbon dioxide (CO2). However, the use CO2 refrigerant requires refrigeration cycle greater extremes placing demands on polymer materials used for seals and packing. In this work we have measured solubility diffusivity gaseous in two polymers sealing plants. These are Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR) Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) which O-rings. The experiments were performed high-pressure microbalance. Solubility results modelled using an equation state (simplified PC-SAFT). necessary parameters obtained previously published method. can be successfully correlated simplified PC-SAFT.
