摘要: Vaginitis is one of the commonest reproductive tract infections in sexually active women. In present study clinicoetiological characterization infectious vaginitis amongst 380 women age group (18-45 years) was done. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) detected by Nugent's scoring, Candida infection culture, and trichomoniasis (TV) wet mount. One hundred ten (28.9%) presented with symptoms vaginitis. The presenting were vaginal discharge 106 (96.4%), vulval itching/irritation 19 (17.3%), malodor 5 (4.5%), pain abdomen 3 (2.7%), dysuria 1 (0.9%). etiology 33 (30%) cases, which 18 (54.5%) C. albicans 15 (45.5%) non-albicans (NAC) infections. NAC isolates glabrata (n = 10), tropicalis 3), krusei 2). BV TV observed (17.3%) 2 (1.8%) respectively. A statistically significant association between presence curdy-white (p 0.001) 0.007) noted. To conclude, we etiological predominance infection, considerable prevalence NAC, indicating need for microbiological investigation up to species level cases infections, ensure appropriate management.
